Monthly Bookkeeping & Cleanup

Reliable bookkeeping is the foundation of every smart financial decision. We keep your accounts reconciled, categorized, and current, so you always know where your business stands and never scramble at tax time.

A practical starting point

Behind on bookkeeping, or unsure whether your numbers are right?

A bank feed is a starting point, not a completed set of books. Duplicate imports, uncategorized transfers, personal expenses, and payments recorded against the wrong invoice can distort both profit and cash. Monthly bookkeeping should reconcile the accounts and explain the items that still need your attention.

We start with the last reliably closed period, account access, and a list of outstanding balances. Catch-up bookkeeping is scoped separately from ongoing monthly work so you know which months need reconstruction. For QuickBooks or Xero cleanup, we review the chart of accounts and opening balances before carrying errors into another reporting period.

What to agree before work begins

Agree on the accounts, months, close schedule, and reports in scope. A useful monthly handoff identifies unreconciled items and owner questions alongside the profit and loss statement and balance sheet.

Services we can include

The engagement letter confirms the work, reporting periods, responsibilities, and fee. Select the support you need rather than assuming every item is part of one package.

  • Monthly transaction categorization and reconciliation
  • Bank, credit card, and merchant account reconciliations
  • Accounts payable and receivable tracking
  • Cloud accounting setup and cleanup (QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Month-end close with a clear summary you can actually read

Common questions

Which accounting software do you support?

We work primarily in QuickBooks Online and Xero, and can clean up or migrate from spreadsheets or legacy systems.

My books are a mess, can you help?

Yes. We offer catch-up and cleanup bookkeeping to bring prior months or years current before we take over the monthly close.
