The practice

Serious financial work, made clear.

Shamim CPA is an independent accounting and tax advisory practice for clients who expect their records to be accurate, their options to be explained, and their work to be handled with discretion.

Some clients need a personal tax return after a move or a change in income. Others need overdue books reconciled, payroll coordinated, or a financial decision tested against a cash forecast. We establish the scope first, identify the records needed, and explain what the work will and will not cover.

How It Works

A streamlined onboarding process

A clear, authenticated process that takes you from initial consultation to completed work efficiently and professionally.
01

Discuss the work

Tell us what you need, which years or businesses are involved, and any approaching deadlines. We discuss fit, records, scope, and fees before an engagement begins.

02

Build your checklist

Complete the intake questions so the team can identify relevant income, entities, and life changes. Your document list can be refined as new information becomes available.

03

Share and clarify records

Upload available records through the client portal. Review extracted details and answer follow-up questions; automated extraction supports the process but does not replace professional review.

04

Review before finalizing

Discuss the prepared work, unresolved questions, and next steps. Any filing or other authorized action follows the agreed engagement and the required client approval.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Start with clear answers about fees, records, tax planning, IRS notices, and secure document handling. Browse the complete CPA FAQ.
What services does a CPA firm provide?

A CPA firm may provide bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll coordination, tax preparation, tax planning, IRS representation, and business advisory services. Shamim CPA scopes each engagement around the records, filings, and decisions you actually need help with.

How much do CPA services cost?

Fees depend on scope, record quality, transaction volume, number of entities and states, filing history, and the complexity of the work. We review those facts first, then explain the fee basis before work begins.

Can you clean up overdue or inaccurate books?

Yes. Cleanup can include reconciling prior periods, correcting classifications, resolving duplicate or missing transactions, reviewing opening balances, and documenting adjustments. We assess the records before estimating timing and scope.

What is the difference between tax preparation and tax planning?

Tax preparation reports transactions and positions after they occurred. Tax planning looks ahead at lawful timing, elections, withholding, estimated payments, entity structure, and major decisions while there is still time to act.

What is a fractional CFO?

A fractional CFO provides senior financial leadership on a part-time or outsourced basis. The role typically focuses on forecasting, performance analysis, capital planning, reporting to owners or boards, and financial decisions rather than routine transaction entry.

How do I create a Shamim CPA client account?

Open Client Login, choose Create Account, and enter your name, email address, and a password that passes the on-screen checklist. We will email a 12-character verification code. Enter the newest code to verify your email and unlock the full client portal.

How do I upload documents to the client portal?

Submit the intake so the portal can build your document checklist, then open Documents. Choose the matching document slot and select a file or drag it into the upload area. You may upload any document you already have; you do not need to finish earlier checklist items first.

How do I send tax documents securely?

Sign in to the private client portal and follow your document checklist. If you are unsure where a record belongs, contact support before sending it. Do not attach sensitive records to a public form or ordinary email.
